2019 Cigar City Concours d’Elegance – Glasspar & Panache Photos

Hi Gang…

This past weekend we participated in our final concours d’elegance event of the year – the Cigar City Concours d’Elegance of Tampa, Florida – and we were honored to attend.  For this event we did something a bit different – something that we will be doing more of in the future.  We represented cars that were owned by friends of Undiscovered Classics.

The 1952 Glasspar G2 we showed was restored by our Undiscovered Classics team and debuted at the Cigar City Concours d’Elegance.  The owners are Brian and Sue Ford of Christchurch, New Zealand and we’re very pleased with the final result of the car.  Undiscovered Classics affiliates Ralph Smith and Tom Cook did most of the restoration and their work shined at the event.

The other car on the field is owned by Guy Dirkin of Clermont, Florida and is the 1949 Panache Sport Custom.  It is a car we’re still researching but this is one nicely designed sport custom.  Guy has been working to restore this car for the past several years and we may be helping him down this path in the coming months.  In the meantime, we showed the car on the field as a “survivor” and enjoyed sharing the history of this car and the Glasspar with those who attended.

But now….let’s check out some photos from the event.  Away we go 🙂

Here’s the 1952 Glasspar G2 – they were “breezing” race horses in the background on early Sunday morning of the concours.

Guy Dirkin’s 1949 Panache Sport Custom was in a league by itself. We can’t wait to see how the finished car will look. Thanks for letting us show it Guy!
