Woodill Wildfire Coupe Debuts – Rodding and Re-Styling: May, 1956

Hi Gang…

We’re always looking for the initial press release photos and captions for each of our favorite fiberglass sports cars.  Here’s an early photo and accompanying caption that was printed in the spring of 1956.  Let’s see what they had to say:

Woodill Wildfire Coupe Debuts
Rodding and Re-styling: May, 1956

Woodill Wildfire coupe body for 1956 features fastback styling and an inside luggage compartment of large proportions.  It’s made entirely of fiberglass, and can be bought as a complete car (with Eldorado engine) or in kit form.  Write Woodill Motor Company, Orange, California.

Summary:

As with the original Woodill Wildfire sports car, the Wildfire coupe was designed by Bill Tritt as guided by the style desired by B.R. “Woody” Woodill.  Only 1 Wildfire coupe was ever made and it disappeared soon after its initial appearance in 1956.

Maybe it’s still out there gang.  Which one of you will begin the search and find the last Woodill Wildfire ever made?  What a great story that would make here at Forgotten Fiberglass.

Hope you enjoyed the story, and until next time…

Glass on gang…

Geoff
