This  Car

The Bohada is a rare, handcrafted American sports car from the 1960s, born from the collaboration of three friends in Buffalo, New York: Bob Jones, Hank Steiger and Dave Timm. The name “Bohada” comes from the first two initials of each of their first names – BO (Bob), HA (Harry) and DA (David).  I knew both Bob and David and Harry’s family as well.  The Bohada is known for its sleek fiberglass body and a custom-built chassis.  Debuting in 1964, the car was featured in the March 1965 issue of Foreign Car Guide and appeared in several shows in the American northeast in the mid 1960s.  Click on the following link to review the 1965 article:

As it sits today, the Bohada has been widened and lengthened to fit a stock TR4 generation chassis.  The fiberglass work has been completed on widening the car, but work remains to complete the lengthening of the body.  The modifications to the body were undertaken to allow it to fit on a stock Triumph TR4 generation chassis which has both an independent front and rear suspension as well as rack and pinion steering.  As the car sits today, the body still must be finished and mounted to the chassis.   The drivetrain would also need to be purchased and installed.

The car is located in Tampa, Florida

Concours  Embraced:  American handcrafted specials have been welcomed across the country, and in recent years this has expanded to rallys, special exhibitions and more.  What drives interest in these cars is the unique design and history of the build – in every case a story that is a “one of one.”  Since 2007, major concours such as Amelia and Pebble Beach have held classes of these cars on several occasions, and both the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance and the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance have featured classes of these cars in 2023 and 2024.
