The Kurtis-Omohundro Partnership

Frank Kurtis and Paul Omohundro partnered on three projects in their lifetime.  The first project (1946-1948) involved Paul Omohundro’s “Drop Hammer Forge” company – Comet Industries – creating many of the quarter-midget bodies in the late 1940s for Kurtis-Kraft.  The second (1946-1948) project involved Comet Industries using Frank Kurtis designs for the 1940 Kurtis-Hughes sports car to create a test of building American sports cars.  The third project (1949-1950) is shown in the article below and involved Paul Omohundro’s company creating the fiberglass panels for the Kurtis Sports cars.
