As with many of our cars here at Undiscovered Classics, they find new homes so we can concentrate on other restorations. We would have loved to restore this car and pursue the history more but alas….so little time and so many cool cars to find and document.
The new owner is Luis Alarcos from Valladoid, Spain who collects a rare kind of “Special” from America – Renault based “Specials. These kinds of “Specials” are rare cars both here in the USA and in Europe. Luis has another Renault-based Special he acquired from us and has undertaken the restoration of it. You can read about his Devin-Renault Special via the link below:
Earlier this year we created a “showcase” section of our website for special cars that deserve attention and recognition. The 1968 SWM Gordini is one such car. Click on the link below to visit the Showcase for this car and learn more about its history and place in coachbuilt European sports cars.
We also wish the best of success on the restoration to Luis and his newly acquired SWM Gordini. I’m looking forward to getting updates as the restoration progresses. By the way…. more and more of our cars are going overseas – both restored and unrestored examples. Those of you interested can click on the link below to see some of these cars and their new overseas homes:
Hope you enjoyed the story, and remember…
The adventure continues here at Undiscovered Classics.
