Ready… Set…. Action! The Internet Movie Car Database

A 1953 Grantham Stardust Appeared in the 1956 Thriller “Menace From Outer Space”. Did You Know That Grantham Stardust Sports Cars Also Appeared in the TV Series Mr. North, Rocky Jones Space Patrol, and the Movie “Johnny Dark”?

Hi Gang…

Recently, Fiberglass Friend Tom Householder sent me a link to a website known as “IMCDB.org”.  Haven’t heard of it???  Well… it stands for “Internet Movie Car Database” and it’s a great website to identify every car in every movie ever made.  Here’s how they describe themselves on their home page:

Welcome to the Internet Movie Cars Database. You will find here one of the most complete list on the web about cars, bikes, trucks and other vehicles seen in movies, image captures and information about them. To start your visit on the site, you can search for a movie by typing a part of its title in the search box in the top right corner of the page, or select a make in the list below.

Here’s their home page for those of you would like to learn more: Click here to go to the Internet Movie Cars Database Home Page

Finding Our Favorite Fiberglass Cars:

You won’t believe how extensive this site is.  It even lists our favorite fiberglass cars from the 1950’s forward.  Click here to see a complete list of the vehicles they have identified in the films.

For example, they’ve identified some of our favorite cars in the following films:

A Customized Meyers Manx Appeared in the Movie “The Thomas Crown Affair”

Click here to see the Woodill Wildfire in Movies

Click here to see the Meyers Manx in Movies

Click here to see the Victress in Movies

Click here to see the Gazelle in Movies

Click here to see the Glasspar G2 in Movies

And there are many many others.  This website is guaranteed to keep you busy for hours tracking down cars you remember in films you love.

Check Out Some Samples Pictures and Their Discussion Board Too:

If You Look Closely, You’ll See Three Woodill Wildfires in this New Car Showroom in the Danny Kaye Movie “Knock On Wood”.

Here’s a great example of one of their discussion areas that shows comments (not all accurate concerning fiberglass cars – but we’re trying to help)  and fantastic pictures from some of the movies and tv shows too.  Click on this link to learn more about the Wildfire in the movie: Knock on Wood.

Summary:

I hope you enjoy the movie website and, thanks again to Tom Householder for bringing this to our attention and sharing this remarkable website with all of us (Thanks Tom!!!).

And as always…

Glass on gang…

Geoff
